The Terra Lago Community Development District is a local, special-purpose government entity authorized by Chapter 190 of the Florida Statutes as amended, and established on October 13, 2022 by the Village of Indiantown, Martin County, Florida Ordinance No 12-2022 as an alternative method of planning, acquiring, operating and maintaining community-wide improvements in planned communities.
The Terra Lago CDD encompasses an area of approximately 766.48 acres of land entirely within the Village of Indiantown, Martin County, Florida. The site is generally located on the west of SW Indian Mound Drive, north of State Road 710, and east of SW Allapattah Road.
The Terra Lago CDD is granted all powers authorized pursuant to Sections 190.011 and 190.012(1)(a)-(h), (2)(a) and (d), (3) and (4), Florida Statutes.
A Community Development District (CDD) provides the 'solution' to Florida's need to provide valuable community infrastructure generated by growth, ultimately without overburdening other governments and their taxpaying residents. CDDs represent a major advancement in Florida's effort to manage its growth effectively and efficiently. This allows a community to establish higher construction standards, meanwhile providing a long-term solution to the operation and maintenance of the community's facilities.
